Project Strategy & Approach
It is my hope that the parents who see my public service announcement will think twice about the food they are giving their children. Childhood is a habit-forming time, and in order for children to live healthy, active lifestyles they should be developing healthy, active habits. I want parents to realize the impact of teaching their children the importance of proper nutrition. The intended audience for my project is parents of young children, with a particular emphasis on mothers.
To achieve this goal, I completed a prelimary research document outlining the issue and my objective. I then chose the strongest words and phrases from my outline around which to build a campaign. To create my PSA, I used Adobe Photoshop to build my slides and Adobe Flash for animation and sound. This Web page and the page with the embedded Flash movie was created using Adobe Dreamweaver.

Project Tagline
Don't supersize your kids.
Desired Outcome
Children are not as healthy as they should be. They are not getting proper nutrition during their developmental years, and as a result are developing conditions usually associated with much older people – conditions like gout, diabetes, and childhood obesity. The problem is that parents and schools do not provide proper nutrition because it is so much easier and cheaper to purchase processed, inorganic foods. Because of the unhealthy foods given to children, they never learn to eat healthy foods. This leads to health issues at all ages.
